The latest version, FastTrack 3.2, provides many new features and benefits to improve your business!
FastTrack 3.2
As always, the new features in FastTrack 3.2 were developed in close collaboration with our customers to facilitate PC client management, both in connection with introduction and administration. This document introduces some of the new functionality:
Zipper Administration Portal (ZAP)
Based on new Microsoft .NET technology and Web Services. Increases
your options for inventory and reporting.
Current features include:
- Extended group administration
- Set-To-Standard is back
- Multilanguage support
- Application administration replacing Siteapp.exe
- Scheduling of Site-2-Site replication
Zipper PXE Service (ZPXE)
Now with 32-bit image as pre-installation OS. Windows PE speeds up installation and supports floppyless PCs, which are becoming increasingly common. Plug-and-Play
greatly facilitates drive routine maintenance and finally eliminates the need for DOS skills. ZPXE 32 Bit Boot are a perfect complement if you want to use the SMS 2003 OS Deployment Feature
Pack. Also supports Wake-On-LAN routing and can be run in a SYSTEM context, minimizing the number of service accounts etc.
Zipper Distribution Service (ZIDS)
Bandwidth control, replication scheduling and Fanout function - all in a single tool.
BaseInst and AppStart
BaseInst now has better support for multi-version packages, obligatory Pre and Post sections and the option of initiating deinstallation of all applications that the user/computer is not authorised for. AppStart has many great new features including extended deinstallation support, Start-In catalogue and integrated Run-As User.
Microsoft SMS 2003
All customers with an Enterprise Agreement as their Microsoft volume license agreement will find SMS 2003 too cheap and powerful to miss. FastTrack gives you best practices and a shortcut to successful implementation of SMS 2003 with integration to the rest of your FastTrack platform. We have already tested this best practice on about ten customers with excellent results. SMS 2003 is a foundation for FastTrack/BDD 2.0.
